The fourth annual call for large outdoor sculptures to be displayed for a year on the lawn of the Orange County Administration Center in the heart of downtown Orlando is now open for online applications.
For the first time, Orange County is using the CaFé (CallForEntry.org) online application and adjudication service. It is free for artists to sign up, and allows them to store images and information for easy distribution to other calls across the country. There is no application fee.
The Sculpture on the Lawn 2018 exhibition will be unveiled at an outdoor reception on Friday, October 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Orange County Administration Center, 201 S. Rosalind Ave., Orlando, FL 32801. The exhibition will feature four sculptures and will remain on display through September 2019. The program provides an honorarium of $3,500 to each artist.
This year’s theme of Diversitastic! will help broadcast that Orange County is a growing community of interwoven backgrounds, cultures and religions. The Diversitastic! theme supports the inaugural FusionFeston November 24 and 25, 2018, a free, two-day celebration in downtown Orlando, supported by Orange County Government.
The deadline for artists to submit is August 5, 2018.
