5th Annual Indie Folk Fest At The Mennello This Saturday

The Mennello Museum of American Art will hold their fifth annual Indie-Folkfest presented by PLR Florida this Saturday, February 16th from noon to 5pm. It’s a FREE, all ages, event for people and their pets from noon to 5 p.m. in the Mennello Museum Sculpture Garden.

 

Indie-Folkfest is the Mennello Museum’s signature outdoor event featuring local, regional and national art, music and cuisine as well as live music from some of Central Florida’s most notable musicians.


Shannon Fitzgerald, Mennello Museum Executive Director shares, “Folk Fest raises funds for the museum’s education initiative and it allows our community to experience some of the best local food, art and music they may not experience otherwise.”

 

While the event is FREE to attend, be sure to bring your wallet because Indie Folk Fest is full of affordable art and handmade goods and includes some of the area’s best artisanal food vendors and food trucks.

In addition to the art and food, there will be raffle baskets and packages that include tickets to concerts at Amway, 2 roundtrip airline tickets, a weekend rental of an exotic car as well as attractions tickets, art, entertainment and gift cards.  Raffle tickets are available for purchase during the event and you must be present to win.

Don’t forget to bring the kids! There will be an art project station and a communal fence painting zone for young ones and the young at heart. 

Offsite parking will be available at Urology Center, Magruder Eye Clinic, McCree Construction and Florida Hospital Alden Garage. But you can bring your bike or use your favorite ride share too.

This year’s featured artwork for the event was created by local artist Peterson Guerrier.  His work will be featured on the limited-edition merchandise for sale the day of the event.  There is NO FEE for Parking & This is a FREE ALL AGES EVENT.

-Austin-Based Burger Bar to Open in Pointe Orlando–

 

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (FEBRUARY 12, 2019— Hopdoddy Burger Bar, the nationally renowned burger and beer joint, is thrilled to announce their expansion into Florida with a new location in Orlando opening Monday, February 18. Specifically, the restaurant will launch in Pointe Orlando and will feature a menu of popular burgers, shakes, fries, and a full liquor bar.

 

Founded in 2010 by Guy Villavaso, Larry Foles, Chuck Smithand Larry Perdido, Hopdoddy stands out for its “from scratch” ethos and full bar. Designed to be devoured in your hands, all burgers at Hopdoddy are made with all natural meats. Hopdoddy grinds their meats in-house daily and offers a wide variety of proteins like Angus beef, grass-fed Kobe beef, chicken, turkey, and sushi-grade tuna that are stacked between baked-from-scratch buns. They also offer vegetarian and vegan menu items such as The Impossible and La Bandita burgers. Alongside its burgers, Hopdoddy serves a lineup of handcut fries, fresh salads, and handcrafted milkshakes made with Jersey Cream Custard. Hopdoddy also carries an array of local craft beers on tap as well as in cans and bottles.

As part of the mission to “Do Right,” the burger bar offers the Goodnight/Good Cause program nationwide where Hopdoddy donates a portion of the proceeds from each Good Night Good Cause burger sold to charitable organizations. Since 2010, Hopdoddy guests have helped raise more than $1,000,000. The Goodnight/Good Cause burger is made with Angus beef, Tillamook cheddar, caramelized onions, jalapeños, caffeinated barbecue, Sassy Sauce, lettuceand tomato.
